DOG-FRIENDLY FEATURES

Your dog is allowed full access inside the retreat (except the kitchen!). We own a dog ourselves and were always disappointed in other dog-friendly businesses when we were not allowed to let our dog sleep inside as he is an inside pet. At Tarra Valley Rainforest Retreat, we want your pooch to be treated as one of the family.

We have 50 acres of space! There are many areas to for you and your pet to explore. Please be aware that we are in a totally natural setting and that snakes exist in this area!

We have an a-la-carte doggie menu for breakfast and dinner. We welcome your pooch in our dining room which is a separate room on the ground floor. In good weather, enjoy your meal on the back verandah overlooking uninterrupted views of the bush. We can supply Gourmet Picnic Hampers for you and your pooch which include doggie treats.

After a dip in the sea or a walk in the mud, your pooch might feel like a warm wash. We provide a luxurious hydrobath complete with towels and locally made R.A.W. shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for our retreat.

Plans are underway for intimate naturally-hedged areas in the garden to sit with your pet including large BBQ areas near the off-leash area. We anticipate that these areas will be complete by the end of winter 2008.

What do you do with your pooch when you would like to spend half a day at the Tarra Bulga National Park or a day at Wilson’s promontory (both of which do not cater for dogs)? We are fortunate to be able to offer the services of a great pick-up and drop-off boarding service for your pet at the Woodside Dog Lodge. The costs are very reasonable from $13 + $16.50 for pick-up service ($29.50) for a full or half day.

We provide day beds for your pet outside on your private balcony and feeding bowls and beds inside upon request.
